Build your own pills

Chain actions into your own pills, pass results from one action to the next, and let the agent build one for you.

Build a pill by hand

A pill is a chain of actions, shown as cards. In Settings, open Rings and pick a ring first. To start, click Blank at the bottom of Add pill, or open any pill. The first card holds the pill’s Name, Icon, Only the icon, Hover colour, Look (see Appearance), “Show it when”, “Show it in”, Runs on (Click or Scroll), and its shortcut and gesture.

  1. Click the + between two cards. In “Add an action”, search or pick from Suggested next, Ask, Logic, Screen, Text, Files, Open, or Do.
  2. Click a card to edit it on the right. Fields marked with a warning still need a value.
  3. Click + Add data in a field to use a result from an earlier action.
  4. Drag a card by its grip to reorder it, or into a branch of an If.
  5. Click Run on a card to test the pill up to that action, then click Save. Discard drops your changes, and the round Undo (Ctrl+Z) button steps back.
  6. Deleting an action with branches shows a message with Undo; so does deleting a pill.
  • The ⋯ menu at the bottom of the first card: Duplicate, Copy as text, Take out of the ring or Put in the ring, Save to library, Move to library, and Delete pill.
  • Takes and Gives in the card’s panel show what the action uses and what it passes on. More options holds the rest. Last run shows the result of your latest test.

Build with agent

Describe a pill and the agent builds it. Open Settings, then Rings, and type in the bar under the ring. On a ring it makes a new pill. Inside a pill it changes that pill. It needs a Google Gemini key: in Settings, open Models and add one.

Your request and the pill’s contents go to Google. Keep keys out of your request.

  1. Type in the bar. Its hint reads “Describe a new pill…” on a ring and “Change “name”…” inside a pill. Click Build.
  2. Read the draft under Built pill. Reply in the bar (“Refine it…”) to change it, or answer a question from the agent (“Your answer…”). Cancel stops a build.
  3. Click Apply to add it, or Discard. Nothing is added before Apply. If the agent asks a question, Build anyway answers it with “Use your best guess.”
  4. Fill in anything left empty. Where no action covers the task, the agent leaves an empty Do actions, API call, or Run a program action for you to set up.

Use results from earlier actions

A field can hold your own words together with results. Click + Add data to choose the selection, what you typed, the clipboard, or an earlier action’s result. If an action didn’t run, for example on the branch not taken, its result is empty.

Set a value saves a result under a name for later actions. Turn on Keep between runs to remember it for next time.

Make decisions and ask for input

If… tests the text, a number, an earlier answer, files, the app, the chat panel, or the time. Set Match to All or Any when you have several tests. Put actions in the Yes and No lanes; the pill carries on below them afterwards. A branch can hold another If, up to 3 levels.

Input asks you something while the pill runs. Set Mode to Pick one (up to 10 choices), Yes or no, or Type it. Ask AI with a Jev model can also answer yes or no, sort into choices, or rate. These need a TypeSafe key.

Stop ends the pill, even from inside a branch.

Test a pill

Hover a card and click Run (its tooltip reads “Run up to here”). The pill runs up to that action, using the text you last copied as the selection. If the pill asks for input, the prompt bar opens first. Last run shows each result, error, and skipped action.

Actions that change your PC show a “Would …” line instead of acting. This covers pasting, clicking, typing, launching programs, replaying, saving, renaming, converting, changing system settings, and sending API requests. Input uses a test choice instead of asking you.

AI calls, file reads, screenshots, and searches run for real. They send data to the provider and can cost money. To check the real experience, run the pill from its ring.
