Record and replay

Record clicks, typing, and scrolling once and play them back from a pill.

Make a recording

Record and replay is in Basics in Add pill. You can also add it as an action in any pill.

  1. Click Record. Settings hides, and any actions before it run for real first.
  2. Click, type, and scroll as you want it repeated. Turn on Record mouse movement first if the pointer’s path matters.
  3. Press Escape, or click the recording status pill, to stop.
  4. Check the recorded steps, choose a Speed, and save the pill. Record again replaces the recording.

Choose what each click means

Where Rondell can recognize the button or link you clicked, it follows that item if it moves. For each such click, “Which one” picks This item, First in its list, or Item with text…. The text can include data such as the selection.

A click Rondell couldn’t identify uses the recorded screen position. It can miss if the window moves or changes size.

Play it back and stop it

Run the pill from its ring or key. Escape, a key press, or moving the mouse stops playback. Run in the pill editor only describes the replay; use the pill itself to test it in the app.

Check a recording before you share it

Typed text and the names of windows and buttons are saved with the pill, and go with a shared pill or an export. Look through a recording before you copy or export it.
