Choose how rings look and move: layout, size, themes, looks, icons, and sounds.

Choose a layout

Each ring has its own layout. In Settings, open Rings, then Edit ring, and choose Circle, Row, Column, Hexagon, Square, or Sphere. Row, Hexagon, Square, and Sphere always show icons only. On Circle and Column you can turn on Icons only.

Sphere is a ball of icons that turns as you move the pointer. Bring the pill you want to the front, then release.

Set size, spacing, and hover

Set the pill Width and Height, or Size for icon-only pills. “Between pills” sets spacing on a Circle (Snug, Medium, or Roomy); on the other layouts a Gap slider does. “From the centre” moves the pills away from the middle on a Circle or Sphere. Reset puts sizes, spacing, and hover back to the defaults.

  • Hover border: how thick the outline on the pill under the pointer is.
  • Background: turn off to show icon-only pills without their glass until hovered.
  • Show name on hover: show the name next to an icon-only pill.
  • Magnetic hover: the pill under the pointer leans toward it.
  • Sphere has none of the hover options.

Choose how a ring opens and closes

In Edit ring, under Open/close animation, choose Fade, Spring, Liquid, Frost, or Orbit, then set Duration. Replay shows it. Sphere has no animation choice. “Hide while a ring is open” hides the cursor while you hold a ring open.

Reduce motion in Settings, then System, tones down the animations across Rondell.

Choose a theme

In Settings, open Theme and pick Clear (the default), Acrylic, Liquid glass, or Flat. The sliders under it change with the theme, and Reset restores its defaults. Clear has Panel tint, Pill tint, and Blur. Acrylic adds Saturation and Border. Liquid glass adds Saturation, Rim light, Highlight, Border, and Shadow. Flat has Panel lightness, Pill lightness, Border, and Shadow. Pill tint and Pill lightness show only after you turn off Inherit global under Pills. A theme styles the pills, the prompt bar, and the answer panel. Settings itself always uses acrylic.

Give a ring or pill its own look

A look is a saved theme setup, so one ring or pill can differ from the rest. In Settings, open Theme, open the Look dropdown, and choose “New look…” at its foot. Type a name in Name and change the sliders. Used by shows how many rings and pills use the look. Delete look removes it, and they go back to Global or their ring’s look.

Pick a look from the Look row in Edit ring, or in a pill’s settings. “Edit looks…” in that list opens the Theme page. A pill uses its ring’s look unless you pick its own.

Set icons and colour

In a pill’s settings, click Icon to choose Auto, None, a provider logo, or an icon from the library. Under Your icons, Upload adds your own. Auto follows the pill’s first action.

“Only the icon” shows a pill as an icon without its name. Hover colour sets the colour the pill takes under the pointer.

Set sounds

In Edit ring, under Sound, choose Off or one of six sounds for hovering, and set Volume. “On open” and “On choose” add cues for opening the ring and choosing a pill.

In Settings, then System, set Done sound, Error sound, and how long messages stay on screen (Messages stay). Media has its own Volume sound.

Chat panel and notes

In Settings, the Chat panel page sets where answers appear, what the panel shows, text size, font, and light or dark. The Notes page sets where the notes panel appears and whether it stays pinned.
